    • Currently different organizations vary in their recommendations on when to use the available anti-fungal therapies.
  4. ARDS Clinical Update
    • Upon completion of this lecture, clinicians should be able understand and implement cost effective infection control measures in their practice.
  5. Management of Embolic Stroke
    • Currently different organizations vary in their recommendations on treatment of CVAs and related complications. Critically review the management of acute embolic strokes.

    • Recognize where hyperoxia had been shown to be harmful in patient with critical illnesses and identify mechanisms that contribute to hypoxia’s detrimental effects in the critically ill.

    • Accept how to best integrate non-standard advanced directives into the care of critically ill patients.
  13. Role of hypothermia in the Critically Ill
    • Separate the AHA Targeted Temperature Management (TTM) recommendations and what the clinical data actually supports.
  14. Treatment of acute DVT and PE in the critically ill
    • Demonstrate how the treatment of DVT and PE varies based on the severity of illness.
